Chess

Dr. Binod Pokhrel

Sixty-four squares

Or an eight by eight grid,

An open war of two brains,

No hidden weapon or armour bagged.

King, Queen, Rooks, Knights and Bishops;

Prime supremos to defend,

Of course the King,

Protected to see un-arrested.

In the flow, have pawns been forgotten?

Nay! I believe,

They behold duty to protect supremos on board,

The least being bothered, though, to sacrifice!

Portfolios on board the Chess,

Powers of identities to the degrees varied;

Could it be stored alike,

Once the game accomplished?

Let all the pieces perched in the chess box,

Would those still enforce similar powers?

Nay, all uniform within the box,

Vanities left aside by the way.

Human, perhaps face the similar fate,

Displaying superiority while holding positions;

Soon they be stored in the box,

Uniformity observed within,

Every shadow looks similar!
