Jahnavi Borthakur
I asked myself...
Where is my destination?
I don’t know where the path leads.
Heaving through life’s nebulous lanes
Churned in the whirlpool of countless pains
Lost in an enigmatic world of fears and sufferings,
I transcend the illusionary walls of fantasies
to gather the fragments of humanity again.
I asked myself...
Where is my destination?
I walked on not knowing where the path leads
All alone I drift in the anonymity of time,
Through the alleys of greed and vice, I see
Human’s abhorrence to the human kind.
Wrapped up in the toxic wave of repugnance and
Spitting out venom in hatred, vanity and pride
I asked myself...
Where is my destination?
But I walked on not knowing where the path leads
Spinning ourselves in the web of a mercurial life,
Do we strive to make the world a Paradise?
I felt like a hermit living in seclusion,
confined with the isolation of the soul, body and mind
In the shadows of uncertainty with reality far behind
I asked myself...
Did I find my destination?
Sailing in the turbulent ocean of eternity,
I now see that my destination lies
beyond my existence in this reality.
In life’s journey I need to fight and survive.
Why am I then so ambivalent about staying alive?
with my warped desired to surrender my life.
Life preaches to us, every time we fall we must rise.
My truth is, I seek to believe and I need to thrive.
