Khadi at midnight

Shantanu Thakur, I.A.S. (Retd.)

Photo: M K Sarma

Khaddar seeps silently

through the confluences;

the tricolour texture is yet a hope alive

gasping through a creaking charkha

of a nation in palimpsest.

God's own man, bereft and stripped

clings on across the divide

embracing the spectre of a frail staff

with hand spun white swirling around...

Mohandas Karamchand

strides along, alone…
