The fountain outside my window
teases me with its freedom.
Each day, in and out,
It burbles with joyous delight
Unaware of the global plight.
The trees outside my window
beckons me with its easy grace.
It leans lightly in the breeze,
doesn't let a small hiccup ruffle it's leaves.
I will never be that peaceful.
The roof outside my window
Calls me with it's gentle slope.
Being out in the air helps me cope
with the stress that comes from just existing
in each exhausting day.
The stars outside my window
smile because they don't know
What's happening down here.
So let's live in ignorance,
On no one would I wish this mess.
